PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolo Pup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pup has chosen Stone Cold as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rolo Pup!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller throws a wild body kick that Pup sees coming a mile off.
Miller tries to clinch but Pup moves out of range.
Pup takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Miller tries to clinch up

and Pup counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pup wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.

Pup has gone for a leg lock! Miller slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pup's guard.
Miller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Miller won't allow Pup to sweep him here.
Miller has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pup throws his legs up looking for a submission but Miller uses it to pass to side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Miller is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pup's shoulder. That is not cool.
Pup tries to improve position but can't.
Miller is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pup looking for a sweep but Miller has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Miller prevents Pup from getting the reversal.
Miller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pup is looking to escape.
Pup is looking to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller controlling the position easily from mount.
Pup is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Miller controlling the position easily from mount.
Pup tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Miller controlling his opponent.
Pup is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Miller tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Ryan Miller has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Pup fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Miller avoids it really well and circles away.
Miller fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pup stalks Miller and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Miller's face. Miller staggers backwards, shaken.
Ryan Miller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Miller throws a head kick but Pup moves out of range.

Miller lands a left and a right that send Pup crashing to the mat, dazed. Miller thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Rolo Pup has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pup has Miller up against the cage in a clinch.
Miller lands an elbow just above Pup 's eye.
Pup looks gassed!
Miller using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.

Miller scores with a shoulder strike.


Pup is rocked!
Miller lands an elbow inside that Pup shrugs off.
Pup is still on wobbly legs! Can Miller finish him?


That has opened up Rolo Pup's cut even more.
Miller lands a big knee to the head and Pup goes down! Miller pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Miller!
A less than humble Ryan Miller misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
