The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karesky looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tavares tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Karesky manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Karesky throws a series of punches but Tavares avoids them all with ease.
Karesky throws a good cross that connects.

No joy there for Karesky, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Tavares shoots in for a takedown but Karesky shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Tavares shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Karesky pinned against the cage. Karesky gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
