Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Sturd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James William (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sturd comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - Wright or Wrong. The crowd seem to be enjoying William's choice of entrance music: Outlaw's Reward . Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Sturd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James William!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
William misses with a head kick.
William wants to clinch up but Sturd keeps it at a distance.
William throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sturd changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Sturd misses with a hook. William ducked under it nicely.
A combination from Sturd does no damage.
William moves into the clinch.
Sturd prevents the takedown attempt.
William tries to work over Sturd's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
William is working for takedown but Sturd is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sturd has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
William lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sturd backwards.
William keeps control of Sturd as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sturd wants to break free but William has control.
William goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
William can't find room to land a body shot as Sturd controls the action.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sturd breaks the clinch.
Sturd fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and William has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Nice takedown defense from Sturd. No joy for William on that attempt.
Jason Sturd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James William.
Sturd lands a big head kick that sends William tumbling to the mat! Sturd takes a step backwards and waves William back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like James William has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sturd moves out of range of the strikes.
William misses with a low kick.
William with a jab.
Jason Sturd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sturd misses with a body kick.
William is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sturd.
William throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
William takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
James William seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
William has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Sturd.
Sturd scores with a sloppy right hand. William should have avoided that one.
William looks to score with a jab to the body but Sturd is just out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sturd slips under a jab.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sturd, right into the meat.
Sturd ducks under a wild hook from William.
William looks to land a right hand but Sturd moved out of range.
Sturd lands a brutal head kick. William looks out on his feet and Sturd throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
