Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cezar Bloodstains (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wanderlei Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cezar Bloodstains!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Bloodstains, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Bloodstains against the cage but Bloodstains circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Bloodstains misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Bloodstains fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.

Bloodstains breaks from the clinch.
Silva shoots in but Bloodstains avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cezar Bloodstains has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wanderlei Silva.
Silva fails to land the takedown.

Bloodstains won't allow Silva to sweep him here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Bloodstains clinches.
Bloodstains content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Silva trying to stall but Bloodstains improves his position.

Bloodstains jumps guard.
Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Bloodstains has wrist control.
Silva won't allow Bloodstains to sweep him here.

Bloodstains wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

Silva throws a strike but Bloodstains rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Bloodstains wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Bloodstains looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Silva!

Bloodstains gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bloodstains wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Silva fails with the takedown

and Bloodstains counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.

Silva pushes Bloodstains off and gets back to his feet.
Silva tries to clinch up.
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Bloodstains sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Bloodstains counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva is trying to improve his position.

Bloodstains stands up and beckons Silva to his feet.
Bloodstains is looking to clinch.
Bloodstains shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Silva wants to control from the top but Bloodstains keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bloodstains is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Cezar Bloodstains overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Silva wants to control the pace but Bloodstains is squirming around nicely.
Silva lands with some strikes.
Silva avoids the attempt from Bloodstains to control.
Silva tries to control but Bloodstains wriggling away.

Silva postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Bloodstains looks a forlorn figure.

Silva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Silva sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Silva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bloodstains is looking to escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wanderlei Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Oh Bloodstains is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Silva is in close to Bloodstains's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bloodstains seems to have got his legs back now.

Bloodstains closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Bloodstains wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Silva is looking for a sweep.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bloodstains is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silva is trying to control Bloodstains's posture but Bloodstains avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cezar Bloodstains.
I think Bloodstains has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
