Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Burgundy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, ThunderStruck. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ron Burgundy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Storm moves out of range of the body kick from Burgundy.
Burgundy connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Storm closes the distance and clinches up with Burgundy, looking for a takedown. Storm pushes Burgundy against the cage but Burgundy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Storm uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Burgundy.
Storm shoots in for a takedown but Burgundy shows good takedown defense.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Storm shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Burgundy but Burgundy pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Burgundy lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Storm backs up against the cage.
Storm tries to clinch but Burgundy moves out of range.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Storm.
Burgundy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Storm looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burgundy is fending him off so far but Storm persists. Nope, Burgundy circles away and we're back to standing.

Ron Burgundy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Burgundy connects with a right hand. Storm shakes it off.
Burgundy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Burgundy lands with a thumping leg kick.
Storm shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burgundy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Storm.
Burgundy keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Storm crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Burgundy - the referee stops the clock and Storm gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Burgundy. Storm manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Storm shoots in but no luck this time.

Burgundy presses Storm against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ron Burgundy dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Burgundy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Burgundy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Burgundy catches Storm with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Burgundy sizes up Storm with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Storm drives through with a takedown into Burgundy's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Burgundy is pressed up against the cage. Storm has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Burgundy down to the mat. Burgundy avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Storm shoots in looking for a takedown but Burgundy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Storm's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Storm shoots in looking for a takedown. Burgundy tries to sprawl out of it but Storm keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Burgundy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Good leg kick by Burgundy there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Storm tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Burgundy swivels and escapes.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Storm takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Storm has his takedown stuffed
and Burgundy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Storm on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Storm tries to score a power double leg takedown but Burgundy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Storm somewhat.
Storm walks into a jab.
Storm takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

and Burgundy counters with a leg kick.

Storm is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Burgundy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Storm looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ron Burgundy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Burgundy lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
A thudding body kick lands there by Burgundy!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Storm.
Burgundy throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Storm's head.
Oh Storm is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Burgundy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Storm doesn't seem bothered though.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Burgundy.
Burgundy gets in close and tags Storm with a short punch that almost sends Storm to the mat! Oh Storm is in big trouble! He turns his back on Burgundy, trying to create some distance but Burgundy rushes him, striking wildly and Storm goes down! The referee tackles Burgundy into the cage to end the fight! Burgundy is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ron Burgundy! Ron Burgundy retains his lightweight title!
A very excited looking Ron Burgundy made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
