Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Watermelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mek Ju (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mek Ju is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watermelon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ju counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ju fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Watermelon with a lazy takedown attempt
and Ju counters with a nice uppercut.
Ju lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Watermelon circles away quickly and effectively.
Ju avoids the head kick by Watermelon.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Watermelon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ju fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Ju connects with a right hand. Watermelon shakes it off.

Ju cracks a nice hook into Watermelon's ribs.

Ju connects with a leg kick. Watermelon looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Watermelon takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ju throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Watermelon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Ju counters with a series of strikes. Watermelon will be more careful next time no doubt.

It looks like Phil Watermelon has been cut.
Ju lands an elbow that stopped Watermelon in his tracks for a moment.

Ju pushes Watermelon back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Oh Watermelon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ju lands a nice knee to the body.
Watermelon is breathing heavily.
Ju has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Watermelon - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Ju, and another! Watermelon is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!

In his post fight interview, Mek Ju started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
