And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Swardson!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Cormier got a little sloppy there for a moment and Swardson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cormier has managed to get both his arms back between Swardson's legs - danger averted.

Swardson is looking for a choke. Cormier gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Cormier manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Cormier won't allow Swardson to sweep him here.

Swardson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cormier defends it easily.
Swardson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Daniel Cormier.
