Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Anjos!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anjos with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Slater shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Slater can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Anjos is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anjos can't escape the position.
Anjos in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Anjos tries to hold on but Slater postures up.
Slater content just to control the position here.
Anjos is looking to get to half guard.
Anjos wants to control but Slater is having none of it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Anjos gets back to half guard.
Anjos is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Slater scores with a couple of nice shots.
Anjos is trying to maintain the position but Slater is very close to passing his half guard.

Anjos looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Anjos tries to get to full guard but Slater has control of the leg.
Anjos tries to kick Slater off but Slater keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Slater scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Anjos flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Anjos wants to get back to full guard.
Slater passes to full mount!
Slater lands a nice shot to the head.
Slater with a couple of short strikes.
Slater trying to control but Anjos is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anjos sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Anjos is trying to control but can't.
Anjos is looking for a sweep. Slater is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Still in half guard, Slater seems content to control.
Slater looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Slater is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Anjos slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Anjos working for a triangle but Slater defends it easily.

Anjos is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Slater frees his head nicely. Oh but Anjos has switched to an armbar! Slater is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
