PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Tilthammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva comes into the arena with Vlad the Impaler blaring out of the sound system. Tilthammer has chosen Autumn - Suffer the wild dogs as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva connects with a solid leg kick.
Silva throws out a leg kick but Tilthammer moves out of range and Silva only half commits.
Good work by Tilthammer as he checks the leg kick.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tilthammer has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tilthammer and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Silva fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Tilthammer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Tilthammer chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Silva can pounce on him.
Tilthammer scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Silva moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Silva pivots, looking for a leg kick but Tilthammer is out of range and Silva settles back down.

Tilthammer darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage.

Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Tilthammer has double underhooks.

Silva breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tilthammer wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.
Tilthammer looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range.

Tilthammer moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.
Tilthammer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Silva.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tilthammer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
Silva lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Tilthammer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tilthammer takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Silva tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tilthammer drops Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Tilthammer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Tilthammer closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Silva! Tilthammer dives in looking to finish! Silva is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
