Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Villia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane MacLain!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacLain defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Villia.
MacLain tries to close the distance and clinch but Villia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

MacLain darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. MacLain lands a nice short elbow.
MacLain is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Villia reverses the position - he's now on top in MacLain's guard.
MacLain tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Villia is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Villia looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Villia trying to control but MacLain is working from the bottom.
MacLain has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now MacLain is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
MacLain has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Villia is proving hard to escape from.
Villia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Villia has momentary wrist control but MacLain slips an elbow through the middle.
MacLain cracks Villia with a solid left hand.


Villia is rocked!

Villia is working an open guard so MacLain takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Oh Villia is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
MacLain circles away from the clinch attempt
and MacLain counters with a huge right that knocks Villia out cold! MacLain is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
