PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Violator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gorge Jurgel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurgel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rock N Roll Train kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Violator, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jurgel closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Violator throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jurgel was covering up waiting for the punch and Violator finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Violator throws a big right hand that misses.
Jurgel trying to control the position.
Jurgel pulls Violator in close to prevent any damage.
Violator wants to control from the top but Jurgel keeps moving.
Violator working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Violator gets to his feet. Jurgel looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Jurgel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Violator closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jurgel tries to roll over but Violator keeps him under control.
Violator missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Jurgel is trying to maintain the position but Violator is very close to passing his half guard.

Violator looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Jurgel is not content to let Violator control the position.

Violator thows a huge punch but Jurgel dodges it nicely.
Violator is controlling the pace.
Jurgel is controlling Violator's trapped leg to prevent Violator from advancing to side control.
Violator tries to stand and escape but Jurgel is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jurgel blocking the ground and pound attempt from Violator.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Violator is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jurgel trying to hold on to Violator's head to control him but Violator postures up.
Violator thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Violator throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jurgel to regain full guard.

Violator trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jurgel's guard.

Jurgel is working an open guard so Violator takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Jurgel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Violator circles away quickly and effectively.

Violator takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jurgel tries to bum rush Violator with a series of wild strikes but Violator uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Violator jabs Jurgel right on the nose. Jurgel blinks but takes it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Violator works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Violator throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jurgel stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Violator lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Violator gets a clinch.
Violator with an attempt at a knee that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Violator dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Jurgel's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Violator connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jurgel scrambles back to his feet.
Violator stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Violator wants it to stay on the feet.

Violator shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jurgel manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Violator stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jurgel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Violator trying to control but Jurgel is working from the bottom.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Danny Violator.
Violator scores with the left hand. Jurgel knows he should have avoided that one.
Violator looks to land a combination but Jurgel avoids it well.
Jurgel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Violator counters with a left and a right... And another left! Jurgel is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!
