Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akekae Pokaku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taylor Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akekae Pokaku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taylor Clark!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Clark gets caught napping as Pokaku dives in and scores a takedown. Clark manages to retain guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pokaku trying to control but Clark is working from the bottom.
Clark wants to stand up but Pokaku is controlling him.
Pokaku tries to free his leg and advance position but Clark is retaining full guard.
Pokaku lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Clark is adopting a defensive guard.
Pokaku throwing strikes but missing.
Clark controlling the position.
Clark not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Taylor Clark was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Pokaku tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Clark swivels and escapes.

Pokaku shoots for a double leg takedown but Clark sprawls well. He's pushed Pokaku's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Pokaku is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Clark gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Pokaku scores with a jab to the head.
Pokaku throws a sloppy head kick
and Clark counters with a left to the body.
Clark looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Clark throws a nice outside leg kick.
Pokaku throws a push kick but Clark slaps the foot to one side.
Pokaku does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Pokaku loads up on a big right hand but Clark slips the punch.
Pokaku tries for a takedown but Clark circles away easily
and Clark counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akekae Pokaku. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pokaku connects with a leg kick. Clark looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Clark jabs Pokaku to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Pokaku lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Clark's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pokaku under the eye.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Akekae Pokaku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Clark. That's going to slow Pokaku down.
Clark lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Pokaku smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The fighters circle momentarily. Pokaku darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

A decent looking cross lands there for Pokaku.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Akekae Pokaku will probably get the nod.

Pokaku swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

A telegraphed right hand from Clark misses the target.
A slow jab from Clark misses its intended target.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pokaku tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Clark swivels and escapes.

Horrible takedown by Pokaku or perhaps it was just good defense by Clark which made him look bad.

Taylor Clark showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Pokaku lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
