Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eashy Eash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Jackson's choice of entrance music: All the above by Maino. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eashy Eash!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joshua Jackson!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Jackson is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Eash as he works his way to full guard.

Jackson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Eash is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jackson, into his guard.
Eash tries to free his leg and advance position but Jackson is retaining full guard.

Jackson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Eash is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jackson.

Eash is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Jackson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Eash is trying to control the action in half guard but Jackson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Eash is just content to waste time from the top position. Jackson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jackson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Eash defends it easily.
Jackson controls Eash momentarily but Eash frees himself.
Jackson wants to get back to his feet but Eash is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We're going to have a standup here because Eashy Eash wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Jackson throws a right and a left that Eash avoids nicely.

A jab lands there for Jackson.
Eash throws a leg kick that misses.
Eash scores with a head kick. Jackson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Eash enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Eash manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Eash tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.

Eash drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jackson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Eash has Jackson in his guard.

Eash really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jackson is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Eash is forced to tap! Great finish!

Joshua Jackson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
