The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masters thows a left - swing and a miss!
Matice Jr fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Matice Jr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Masters but Masters pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Masters throws a half hearted mid kick.
Masters pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matice Jr throws a body kick that misses
and Masters counters with a thumping low kick.

Masters is trying to control the position but Matice Jr postures up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gregory Matice Jr hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Masters pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Matice Jr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Masters escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Masters throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Gregory Matice Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Masters keeps the fight on the outside.
Matice Jr shoots for a takedown but Masters saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Matice Jr shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Masters napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Masters tries to escape but Matice Jr is in control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Masters is looking to improve his position but Matice Jr isn't that keen on the idea.

Masters stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Matice Jr moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Masters lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Masters throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Matice Jr shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Masters as he avoids it easily.
Masters lands a right hook to the body.

Matice Jr shoots for a double leg takedown but Masters sprawls well. He's pushed Matice Jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Matice Jr closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Masters's guard.

Matice Jr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Masters is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Matice Jr is controlling him.
Matice Jr controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Masters trying to keep a closed guard but Matice Jr is proving a slippery customer.
Gregory Matice Jr has got the better of the ground game so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gregory Matice Jr.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Masters.
Matice Jr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Masters but Masters pushes him off and we're back to square one.

A slapping body kick lands there for Masters.
Masters displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Matice Jr.
Masters cracks Matice Jr with an open hand slap.
Masters pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Matice Jr back to the cage. Masters follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Matice Jr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Masters pinned against the cage. Masters gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Matice Jr looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Masters is fending him off so far but Matice Jr persists. Nope, Masters circles away and we're back to standing.

Matice Jr tries to clinch up but Masters circles away and keeps his distance.

Matice Jr shoots in and bounces Masters off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Masters.
I think Masters has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
