Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Baldeh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delta ss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Josh Baldeh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Delta ss!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baldeh shoots in looking for a takedown. ss tries to sprawl out of it but Baldeh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. ss manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Baldeh.

Baldeh drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Baldeh got a little sloppy there for a moment and ss has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Baldeh has managed to get both his arms back between ss's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Baldeh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Baldeh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Baldeh stands and throws ss's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Baldeh looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Baldeh wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by ss, who protects the arm well.

ss is not content to let Baldeh control the position.

Baldeh is working to tighten is grip on ss's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. ss has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Baldeh is really squeezing tight and eventually ss passes out! Baldeh breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Josh Baldeh!
