PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rajon Rondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Oro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rondo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Cassidy - Rondo. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rondo's corner calls for a 1-2. Rondo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A swing and a miss from Rondo.
Oro fails with an attempt to clinch.

Oro moves into the clinch.
Rondo avoiding damage.
Rondo lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Rondo.
Rondo gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.

Rondo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Oro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Oro shoots in looking for a takedown. Rondo tries to sprawl out of it but Oro keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rondo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Oro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Rondo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rondo is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Oro.
Oro looks to clinch
and Rondo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Oro takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Rondo scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Rondo tests Oro's chin there with a solid looking shot.

That kick from Rondo tenderised Oro's leg. Oro is trying to keep his angry face on.
Rondo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Rajon Rondo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Oro.

Oro throws a push kick but Rondo slaps the foot to one side.
Oro shoots in for a takedown but Rondo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rondo lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

and Rondo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Rondo lands a nice looking body shot.
Rondo cracks a nice hook into Oro's ribs.
Rondo scores with a hook to the body. Oro takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rondo lands a really nice looking cross but Oro seems unphased.
Rondo is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Rondo cracks Oro with a good jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Oro looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Oro on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Oro takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Oro is trying desperately to land a takedown but Rondo is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Oro.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oro moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Rondo wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rondo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Oros jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Rondo's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Rondo duly obliges.

Rondo drops Oro with a naaaaasty hook - Oro is in real trouble here! Rondo dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
