Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Merrick Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Theoran Fleury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kane comes into the arena with Blood Sugar - Pendulum blaring out of the sound system. Fleury has chosen Oh Canada! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fleury but Fleury pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice sprawl there from Fleury as Kane shoots in.
A telegraphed right hand from Kane misses the target.

Kane chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Fleury can pounce on him.
Fleury throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Kane uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Fleury.

Kane lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Fleury throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A left lands for Kane.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fleury crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kane - the referee stops the clock and Fleury gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kane. Fleury manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Kane is taking a breather. Fleury says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Fleury is not content to let Kane control the position.
Kane throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Kane is looking for a kimura but Fleury is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kane to get the leverage.
Kane is trying to control the action in half guard but Fleury is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fleury scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Kane throws a series of punches but Fleury moves out of range.

Kane dives in and grabs Fleury's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fleury pushes down on Kane's head and hops out.
Kane throws a chopping leg kick but Fleury manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Fleury lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kane uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fleury.
Both fighters circling a little - Kane finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Fleury is breathing heavily.

Kane is looking to slow Fleury down with leg kicks.
Kane fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kane lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Kane closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fleury's guard.
Kane stands and throws Fleury's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kane scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Fleury to see if he's OK.
Kane works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fleury is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A lull in the action here as Kane stalls from top position.
Kane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fleury can do to turn this around?

Kane is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Fleury looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kane gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Fleury is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kane lets go of the hold and Fleury can pop his arm back in it's socket.
