Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dr Gonzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Dr Gonzo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jake Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jake Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson looks to score with a jab to the body but Gonzo is just out of range.
Gonzo defending well as Nelson loads up on a big left hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Gonzo. Nelson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nelson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Gonzo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Gonzo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gonzo throwing strikes but Nelson manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nelson tries to score with some ground and pound. Gonzo controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Gonzo takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Gonzo is not content to let Nelson control the position.
Gonzo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nelson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Gonzo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Nelson off and has taken his back!
I really don't envy Nelson right now.

Gonzo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nelson is aware though and is defending well.
Gonzo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gonzo wants to stand but Nelson is controlling the position.

Gonzo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nelson defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gonzo enables Nelson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gonzo manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gonzo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Nelson is controlling him.

A close round but Jake Nelson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gonzo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nelson is looking to escape.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nelson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gonzo can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
