PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mad Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Silva is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kanye West - Amazing. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva avoids the body shot from Max.
Max cracks the inside of Silva's front leg.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Max. Silva shrugs it off though.
Silva takes one to the chin there.
Max throws a wild body kick that Silva sees coming a mile off.
Silva connects with a right hand. Max shakes it off.
Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Nice sprawl there from Max as Silva shoots in.
Max misses with a low kick.
Silva throws a big shot that misses.
Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Max moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Max slips a jab from Silva.
Max tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Silva lands with a slapping head kick.
Silva takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Max shoots in looking for a takedown. Silva tries to sprawl out of it but Max keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Silva manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Max can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Max looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Max holds on and takes a little breather.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Max shoots in for a takedown but Silva shows good takedown defense.

Silva looks to land a combination but Max avoids it well.

Max lands a nice looking kick to the body. Silva takes a step back to recover.
Max throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Max throws a low kick, looking for Silva's leg but Silva calmly moves out of range.
Max throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Max lands a nice leg kick that just misses Silva's sensitive parts.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Max manages to avoid it.
Max throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Silva tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

That's time! Max's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Max did well to prevent Silva getting side control.

Max wants to control but Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Max looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Max looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Max!

Silva sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Silva pushes Max off looking to stand but Max dives back in and keeps control.
Max is looking to take a break and control but Silva is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Silva tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Max is looking to advance position but Silva won't allow it.

Max stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Max is trying to control the action in half guard but Silva is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Max gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Silva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Max. Max obviously looking to wear him down.

Max tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Max.
Mad Max is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Silva is working for an americana but Max has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Silva was thinking about the submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva wants to control from the top but Max keeps moving.
Mad Max overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Max bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Silva's guard.
Max is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
