Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Don Max!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nick Abulak!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abulak shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Max sprawls well. Max wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Abulak gets slowly back to his feet.
Abulak wants to clinch up but Max keeps it at a distance.
Max throws a nice looking combination but Abulak bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Max throws a head kick that misses
and Abulak counters by moving into the clinch.
Abulak manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Max is trying to pull guard but Abulak turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Abulak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Abulak looks for a takedown but Max sprawls well.
Max looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Abulak blocks the body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Abulak tries for a takedown but Max sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Don Max has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Abulak.
Max shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Abulak sprawls well. Abulak wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Max gets slowly back to his feet.
Abulak scores a takedown into full mount!
Max is trying desperately to improve position.
Max is working hard here to advance position.
Abulak looking to ground and pound but Max is blocking nicely.
Abulak controlling his opponent.
Max reaches up to try and control the position but Abulak seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Max rolls and tries to escape and now Abulak has his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Abulak is looking to control Max but Max is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Abulak is working for a rear naked choke. Max is not defending it well and Abulak has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Max refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Max's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Nick Abulak!
