Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Borne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brooks comes to the cage accompanied by ZAO - the psalm of the city of the dead.. Samuel Borne acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Brooks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Borne!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Brooks pulls guard.
Borne slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Borne working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Borne looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Borne has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Brooks!

Brooks tries to hold on but Borne postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brooks tries to reverse the position but Borne maintains control.
Borne trying to control but Brooks is having none of it.

Brooks gets full guard.
Borne looking to sit in guard and control but Brooks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Brooks is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Borne is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Brooks is trying to ground and pound but Borne uses the momentary lack of control by Brooks to regain half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Borne shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Brooks is trying to defend but Borne finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Borne passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Brooks!

Borne jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Brooks is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Brooks and Borne has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Samuel Borne showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Borne has managed to clinch.

Brooks turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Brooks tries to move to mount but Borne blocks the move with his legs.
Brooks laying and praying for a moment but Borne takes advantage and regains half guard.
Brooks trying to pass the guard but Borne defending well.
Borne works his way to full guard. Good work.

Brooks postures up and lands a big shot to Borne's brow.
Borne bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brooks's guard.
Borne slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Brooks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Borne defends well.

Brooks wants to sweep here but Borne controlling him for the moment.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Brooks can't keep his opponent in guard - Borne advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Borne is looking for a kimura but Brooks is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Borne to get the leverage.
Borne thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brooks's head.
Borne is trying to control the action in half guard but Brooks is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Borne uses his free foot to push down on Brooks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Brooks.

Borne is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Brooks has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Brooks!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brooks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

I would just about give that final round to Samuel Borne.
I think Borne has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
