Michaels looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Michaels wants to clinch

and Alves counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Alves seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Michaels really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Alves decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Michaels, up you get!

Alves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
