Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Stefan Hentschel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tommy Tapout!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hentschel ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Tapout tries for a takedown but Hentschel sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Tapout tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hentschel swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hentschel looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hentschel throws a series of punches but Tapout moves out of range.
Tapout shoots in but no luck this time.
Tapout doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hentschel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Stefan Hentschel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tommy Tapout.
Tapout tries to bum rush Hentschel with a series of wild strikes but Hentschel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Tapout scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Tapout thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tapout trying to control the position but Hentschel is working away.

Tapout has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hentschel!

Tapout jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hentschel is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hentschel and Tapout has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Tapout thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Tapout working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Tapout is trying to get an arm triangle but Hentschel is defending well.

Tapout is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hentschel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Tapout is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hentschel has escaped the position, nice work there.

Tapout tries for a kimura but Hentschel is defending well.

Tapout tries to score with some ground and pound. Hentschel controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Tapout goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hentschel has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tapout but great work by Hentschel.

Tapout is looking for a sweep.
Hentschel wants to control but Tapout is keeping him busy.
Tapout can't do much from the bottom here.
Tapout is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hentschel connects with a decent elbow.
Tapout is looking to reverse the position.
Hentschel working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Tapout is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on Tapout's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hentschel cracks Tapout with a big elbow.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hentschel lands a few punches from side control.
Tapout takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tapout wants to clinch up but Hentschel keeps it at a distance.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hentschel.
Tapout avoids the head kick by Hentschel.
Hentschel avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tapout fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hentschel manages to avoid it.
Hentschel throws a good cross that connects.

Tapout scores a takedown into full mount!

Tapout goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hentschel is on top in guard.

Tapout working for a triangle but Hentschel defends it easily.
Tapout is trying to control the position but Hentschel postures up.

Tapout looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tapout keeping moving, preventing Hentschel from controlling successfully.

Tapout is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hentschel defends well.

Tapout has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Hentschel should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Tapout has tightened it up now! Hentschel should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
