Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mineirinho Uai So (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Cain has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mineirinho Uai So!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uai So clinches up against the cage.
Cain looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Uai So slows down the pace here.
Cain is trying to break free.
Cain wants to break the clinch but can't.

Uai So manages to pull guard.
Uai So manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cain manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Uai So trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Uai So throwing strikes from guard but Cain blocks nicely.
Uai So trying to control the position from guard on top but Cain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Uai So sitting in guard here, content to control.
Uai So is pushing down on Cain's leg trying to pass to half guard. Cain is fighting to maintain full guard but Uai So has managed to sneak the leg through.
Uai So is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Cain knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Uai So on the ground.
Uai So throwing shots but Cain is blocking nicely.
Uai So passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cain!
Uai So looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Uai So cracks Cain with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Uai So moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cain has worked his arm free - good work by Cain!
Uai So misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Uai So is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cain is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
An elbow from Uai So crashes against the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Uai So trying to control the action but Cain is working from the bottom.
Uai So has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Uai So decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cain to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Uai So throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cain's waist but Cain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Uai So off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mineirinho Uai So dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cain's corner calls for a 1-2. Cain obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Cain tries to land a front kick but Uai So steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Cain lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Uai So circles away quickly and effectively.
Cain throws a right and a left that Uai So avoids nicely.
Daniel Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uai So takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Uai So swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Uai So clinches up with Cain and pushes him back against the cage.
Uai So is looking for a takedown.
Cain softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Cain's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Uai So is leaning against Cain and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Uai So pulls guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Uai So trying to keep a closed guard but Cain is proving a slippery customer.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Cain loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Uai So is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mineirinho Uai So hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Uai So misses with a straight right.
Cain darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Cain fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Uai So lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cain backs up against the cage.


It looks like Daniel Cain has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Uai So pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Uai So slips under a jab.
Uai So shoots in and drives through. Cain sprawls well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cain scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Cain lands with a hook. Uai So tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Cain goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Uai So fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cain manages to avoid it.
Uai So is breathing heavily.

Uai So drives through with a takedown into Cain's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Uai So drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cain manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Uai So has Cain in his guard.
Uai So trying to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Uai So is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cain defends well.
Cain wants to get up but he can't break Uai So's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Uai So trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Uai So is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Uai So wants to pass the guard but Cain is defending well.
Uai So keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Cain is looking to improve his position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cain wants to stand back up but Uai So manages to pass into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Cain will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Daniel Cain's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


A head kick misses from Cain.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cain enables Uai So to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cain manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Uai So pushing down on Cain's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Uai So looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Uai So prevents Cain from standing back up.
Uai So controlling the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Uai So looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mineirinho Uai So.
Cain throws a head kick that misses

and Uai So moves into the clinch.
Cain is trying to force a seperation but Uai So has the dominant position.
Cain looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Uai So's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Cain throws an off balance right hand

and Uai So counters with a takedown into side control.
Uai So taking a breather here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Uai So tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Uai So in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Uai So working the ground and pound but Cain is defending the strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Uai So tries for a kimura but Cain is defending well.

Uai So stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Cain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Uai So manages to avoid it.

Uai So moves into range and clinches up with Cain.

Uai So jumps guard.
Cain postures up.
Cain throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Uai So works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Uai So manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cain manages to get himself to full guard.
Uai So pushes down on Cain's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Uai So moves nicely into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Uai So stands up and beckons Cain to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Uai So closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cain circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mineirinho Uai So comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Uai So has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
