PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hugh Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stu Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harper has chosen Long Way Round - Stereophonics as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Hugh Armstrong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Stu Harper!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harper rushes Armstrong and presses him up against the cage.
Armstrong is trying to drag Harper to the mat but Harper just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Armstrong keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Harper's efforts to push away.
Armstrong jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Harper walks away with a smile on his face. Armstrong gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Armstrong takes the fight into the clinch.
Harper is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Harper manages to break the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Armstrong is defended easily by Harper.

Harper throws a right hand that Armstrong ducks under and follows up with a left that Armstrong also avoids with ease.
Armstrong looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Armstrong tries to advance to mount but can't.
Armstrong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harper keeps working.

Armstrong is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Harper has escaped the position, nice work there.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Armstrong has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Harper!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Harper throws a head kick that Armstrong semi-blocks.

Harper is trying to force a seperation but Armstrong has the dominant position.

Harper stalks Armstrong and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Armstrong's face. Armstrong staggers backwards, shaken.
Stu Harper is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Armstrong tries for a takedown but Harper sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
