Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sebastiao da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastiao da Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Gracie tries to sprawl but da Silva drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie tries to get to full guard but da Silva has control of the leg.

da Silva is looking for a kimura here.
Gracie tries to roll over but da Silva keeps him under control.

da Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
da Silva moves into full mount! Gracie won't be happy about that!
Gracie is squirming around, avoiding da Silva's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie regains half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie wants to improve his position but da Silva is controlling well.

da Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.

Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown

da Silva is trying to stick to Gracie's back but Gracie is turning into da Silva. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in da Silva's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gracie.

da Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
da Silva manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

da Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, da Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.
da Silva is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gracie is on top in guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but da Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has da Silva in his guard.

Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. da Silva sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Sebastiao da Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Gracie.
Gracie takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Gracie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
