The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trunk throws a head kick that half lands.

Walters gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Walters has clasped his hands together around Trunk's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Trunk prevents Walters from moving into mount.
Trunk trying to remain calm as Walters controls from the top position.

Walters stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Nice straight punches there by Trunk. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Trunk.

Walters drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walters is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Trunk wants to stand but Walters is controlling the position.

Walters controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Walters won't allow Trunk to get back to his feet.
Walters advances to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wilbur Walters wasn't doing enough on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Wilbur Walters.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Walters is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Trunk has managed to free his arm - good work.
Walters tries to pass the half guard into mount. Trunk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Walters is taking a breather. Trunk says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Walters postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Trunk looks a forlorn figure.
Walters tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Walters is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Trunk is surviving well by controlling Walters's body position as best he can.
Walters connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Trunk is rocked!

Walters has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Trunk holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Walters tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Walters is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Trunk is surviving well by controlling Walters's body position as best he can.
Trunk squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Walters takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Walters has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Trunk really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Walters controlling the positon.

Walters is cranking Trunk's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Trunk! He's tightened the choke and Trunk is tapping out!
