Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Hashimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anton Chekhov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anton Chekhov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenji Hashimoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Anton Chekhov!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chekhov throws a sloppy head kick and Hashimoto moves out of range easily.
Chekhov fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hashimoto.

Hashimoto moves into range and clinches up with Chekhov.
Hashimoto blocks a body shot from Chekhov.
Hashimoto is trying to pull guard but Chekhov has him pressed against the cage.
Chekhov throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Chekhov misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Chekhov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hashimoto's efforts to push away.
Chekhov throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hashimoto blocks it with crossed arms.
Hashimoto tries to score a body lock takedown but Chekhov shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Chekhov struggles to land a body shot inside as Hashimoto controls his hands.

Hashimoto has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Chekhov is trying to keep an underhook but Hashimoto manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hashimoto trying to control the action but Chekhov is working from the bottom.

Hashimoto stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Chekhov to get to his feet.

Chekhov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
No luck for Hashimoto with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenji Hashimoto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A head kick misses from Chekhov.
Chekhov throws a head kick that Hashimoto semi-blocks.
Chekhov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hashimoto.

Hashimoto gets tackled into the cage by Chekhov. Chekhov maintains the clinch.

Hashimoto breaks from the clinch.
Hashimoto throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chekhov's waist but Chekhov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hashimoto off to one side.
Chekhov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Chekhov misses with a head kick.
Chekhov connects with a high kick.
Chekhov stuffs the takedown.
Hashimoto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chekhov circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hashimoto shoots in looking for a takedown but Chekhov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hashimoto's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Anton Chekhov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Chekhov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hashimoto.
Chekhov with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hashimoto is breathing heavily.
Chekhov scores with a kick to the body.
Chekhov bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Chekhov throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hashimoto throws a body kick that misses.
Chekhov jabs at Hashimoto's body.

Chekhov clinches up against the cage.
A short right from Chekhov.
Chekhov lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Hashimoto tries for a takedown but Chekhov manages to get underhooks.
Chekhov keeps control of Hashimoto as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Chekhov.
Chekhov scores with a shoulder strike.
Chekhov digs a right hand underneath Hashimoto's ribcage. Hashimoto let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Chekhov manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Chekhov trying to land knees to the body.
Chekhov throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Chekhov lands a body shot.
Chekhov missing with knees to the body.
Chekhov lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Chekhov managing to block the knees to the body from Hashimoto.
Chekhov prevents Hashimoto from breaking the clinch.
Hashimoto is trying to pull guard but Chekhov has him pressed against the cage.

Chekhov misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Hashimoto fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chekhov is pressed up against the cage. Hashimoto has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chekhov down to the mat. Chekhov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Chekhov throws a leg kick which misses Hashimoto's front leg but catches the back leg as Hashimoto tries to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A combination from Hashimoto does no damage.
Hashimoto on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hashimoto avoids the head kick by Chekhov.
Chekhov fails in his attempt to clinch.
Anton Chekhov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chekhov lands a nice hook to Hashimoto's body. Hashimoto takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Chekhov throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Chekhov moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Chekhov feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hashimoto's calf.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Chekhov lands a big head kick that sends Hashimoto tumbling to the mat! Chekhov takes a step backwards and waves Hashimoto back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Hashimoto is rocked!
Hashimoto drops his hands momentarily and Chekhov needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Hashimoto just on the top of the head. Hashimoto drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Hashimoto - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Anton Chekhov!
