Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin moves in looking to clinch but Miller pushes him off.

Miller scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Miller wants to pass to mount but Austin is defending the position.
Miller prevents Austin from improving his position.

Miller stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Austin to get to his feet.
Austin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Austin doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Miller counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Austin throws a right hand that Miller ducks under and follows up with a left that Miller also avoids with ease.

Miller shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Miller was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Austin tries to buck Miller off but he can't manage it.
Austin is breathing heavily.
Austin tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Miller fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Miller tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Miller lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Austin hang on?
Austin is trying desperately to improve position.

Miller is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Miller swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Miller shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Miller was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Austin is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Austin is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Austin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Austin wants to improve his position but Miller is controlling well.
Miller is trying to control the action in half guard but Austin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Austin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Miller is working for a submission of some sort.

Austin kicks off Miller and gets to his feet.

and Miller counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Austin!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Austin fails to land with a series of punches.

Miller forces Austin back against the cage and clinches.
Austin is looking to control Miller's arms but Miller gets an underhook and turns him. Now Austin has his back to the cage.
Miller content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Austin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Miller has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Austin throws a punch but it's blocked by Miller.

Miller has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Austin uses from the top position.
Miller bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Austin's guard.

Austin is looking for a sweep. Miller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Miller passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Austin!
Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Miller blocks Austin's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Miller can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Austin is looking to escape.
Austin wants to try and get back to his feet.
Austin is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Austin tries to hold on but Miller postures up.
Miller trying to control but he's not successful this time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Austin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Austin throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Austin is looking to improve his position but Miller isn't that keen on the idea.
Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Miller breaks from Austin's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Austin falls off balance throwing a combination

so Miller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Austin kicks Miller off and gets to his feet.
A bone on bone clash there as Miller blocks the leg kick.
Austin tries to close the distance and clinch but Miller swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Austin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


It looks like Jason Miller has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
No joy there for Austin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Austin throws a series of punches but Miller avoids them all with ease.

Miller takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Austin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Miller has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Miller tries to hold on but Austin postures up.
Austin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Austin prevents Miller from improving his position.

Austin is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Miller is controlling Austin's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Miller is looking to control Austin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Miller avoid being mounted?
Miller misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Miller works his way to full guard. Good work.

Miller scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Austin throws a low kick, looking for Miller's leg but Miller calmly moves out of range.

Austin gets caught flat footed, as Miller shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Miller pushes down on Austin's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Austin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Miller's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Miller's back!
A lull in the action here.
Austin throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Miller!
Austin scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Austin tries to get the hooks in deep but Miller pushed the leg off.
