Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sen Nguyen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Quid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nguyen comes to the cage accompanied by "House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals. Quid is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Wicker Man. Johnny Quid has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quid throws a big shot that misses.
Quid misses the jab.

Nguyen moves into range and clinches up with Quid.
Quid throws a punch but it's blocked by Nguyen.
Nguyen throws a punch but it's blocked by Quid.
Quid misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Nguyen is trying to break the clinch but Quid is controlling him.
Quid throws a head punch that misses.
Quid is leaning against Nguyen and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Quid keeps control of Nguyen as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Nguyen is trying to force a seperation but Quid has the dominant position.

Nguyen has Quid pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Quid manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

A short body shot lands from Quid as the two fighters clinch.
Nguyen changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Quid fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Nguyen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Quid can pounce on him.

and Quid cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Nguyen misses with a series of wild punches.
Quid throws a wild body kick that Nguyen sees coming a mile off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nguyen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nguyen tries to close the distance and clinch but Quid swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Quid throws a front kick aimed at Nguyen's knee but Nguyen avoids it well.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Nguyen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Nguyen shoots in for a double leg but Quid sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Quid finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Quid.

Quid gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nguyen to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Quid bucks up and tries to throw Nguyen off but instead Nguyen has got his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nguyen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Nguyen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Nguyen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Quid for as long as he can get away with.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Sen Nguyen.

Sen Nguyen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Quid feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Nguyen's calf.
Quid leaves Nguyen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Quid drops his hands momentarily and Nguyen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Quid has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nguyen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Nguyen jabs Quid to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Quid ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nguyen moves away.
Nguyen shoots in and drives through. Quid sprawls well.
Nguyen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Johnny Quid is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Nguyen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Quid connects with an inside leg kick.
Quid changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nguyen tries to avoid it but Quid manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nguyen to the ground. Nguyen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Nguyen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Quid throws a nice inside leg kick.

Quid goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Quid looks to land a body kick but Nguyen moved away.
Nguyen swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Quid counters with a left to the body.
Nguyen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Quid fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nguyen has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
