Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jason McGully (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Meogy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jason McGully!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mr Meogy!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meogy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Meogy takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A jab from McGully finds it's way through Meogy's defenses.

Meogy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McGully was covering up waiting for the punch and Meogy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Meogy trying to control but McGully is working from the bottom.
McGully will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Meogy tries to free his leg and advance position but McGully is retaining full guard.
McGully really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Meogy advances to half guard.
McGully looks like he's trying to stand up.
Meogy trying to control the action but McGully is working from the bottom.

McGully is defending against the submission attempts here by Meogy.

Meogy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
McGully wants to get back to his feet.
Meogy drops an elbow to the side of McGully's head.
Meogy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

McGully kicks off Meogy and gets to his feet.

Meogy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
McGully leaves Meogy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jason McGully has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mr Meogy.

McGully lands with a good body shot.
Meogy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McGully.
McGully scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
McGully jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Jason McGully seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Meogy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McGully.
Meogy throws a wild body kick that McGully sees coming a mile off.

McGully closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Meogy's guard.

McGully decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Meogy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGully tries to avoid it but Meogy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGully to the ground. McGully escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Meogy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Meogy goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, McGully rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Meogy's guard! Nice work there by McGully!
Meogy looking to hit a scissor sweep but McGully is one step ahead there.
McGully stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meogy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McGully slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McGully is looking to take a break and control but Meogy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Meogy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

McGully is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Meogy defends it well.

Meogy is defending against the submission attempts here by McGully.
McGully passes into side control, despite Meogy's attempt to control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

McGully tries for a kimura but Meogy is defending well.
Meogy is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason McGully will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


McGully throws a right and a left that Meogy avoids nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meogy is defended easily by McGully.
Horrible takedown by Meogy or perhaps it was just good defense by McGully which made him look bad.

McGully drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jason McGully overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McGully working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Meogy is not content to let McGully control the position.
Meogy tries to buck McGully off but McGully is having none of it.
Meogy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

McGully wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Meogy, who protects the arm well.
Meogy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

McGully is looking for a kimura but Meogy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McGully to get the leverage.

Meogy looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

McGully is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Meogy looking for submissions off his back.
Meogy tries to get to full guard but McGully has control of the leg.
McGully tries to pass to full mount but Meogy defends it.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Meogy is pressing down on McGully's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

McGully gets to his feet - Meogy follows without any prompting.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McGully throws a right and a left that Meogy avoids nicely.

McGully shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Meogy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

McGully has control of Meogy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Meogy regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Meogy is trying to get back to full guard.
Meogy is looking to control McGully's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Meogy avoid being mounted?

McGully seems to be working for a kimura but Meogy defends the submission attempt.

Meogy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but McGully pulls his head out easily.
McGully tries to stand but can't do so whilst Meogy controls his leg.
Meogy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Meogy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGully gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Meogy is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McGully is aware though and is defending well.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Meogy is on top in guard.

McGully has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Meogy off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Meogy takes a shot right to the bread basket.
McGully tries to work over Meogy's front leg with a kick but Meogy checks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Meogy looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Meogy is pushing down on McGully's leg trying to pass to half guard. McGully is fighting to maintain full guard but Meogy has managed to sneak the leg through.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jason McGully will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Meogy takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Meogy avoids a punch combination nicely.
McGully connects with a jab.
Meogy has a takedown stuffed.
McGully cracks Meogy with a good jab.
McGully throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

McGully shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Meogy is trying to defend but McGully finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Meogy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McGully's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McGully's back!

Meogy is controlling the position but McGully somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
Meogy wants to take a breather but McGully is having none of it.
Meogy throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing McGully to regain full guard.
Meogy with a flurry of punches that miss.
Meogy trying to control but McGully is working from the bottom.
McGully can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Meogy controls the pace.
McGully is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Meogy is controlling him.
Mr Meogy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Meogy trying to control the position from guard on top but McGully is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meogy wants to pass the guard but McGully is keeping the position.
Meogy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
McGully tries to escape but Meogy is in control.
Meogy in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
McGully wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

McGully is trying to escape the position but Meogy is controlling the position.

Meogy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but McGully is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Meogy swings around for an armbar but McGully sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Meogy's guard.
McGully wants to control from the top but Meogy keeps moving.
Meogy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McGully manages to get himself to full guard.
Meogy throws a big right hand that misses.

McGully had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Meogy defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Meogy passes McGully's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Meogy wants to pass the guard but McGully is defending well.

Meogy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jason McGully is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McGully looks like he's trying to stand up.

Mr Meogy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think McGully has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
