And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dearak swats away the attempt to clinch by Pekovic.
Dearak slaps away a takedown attempt from Pekovic, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pekovic misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pekovic fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Niko Pekovic. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dearak shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pekovic defends it nicely.

Pekovic pulls Dearak into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Dearak is looking to work some ground and pound but Pekovic has wrist control.
Pekovic might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Pekovic is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Dearak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Pekovic is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Pekovic lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


That has opened up Davros Dearak's cut even more.

Pekovic breaks the clinch.
Dearak changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pekovic tries to avoid it but Dearak manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pekovic to the ground. Pekovic escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pekovic shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dearak as he jumps to the side.
Dearak leaves Pekovic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pekovic tries to clinch there but Dearak circles away.
Pekovic shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dearak but Dearak pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Pekovic shoots in for a takedown but Dearak shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dearak shoots in for a double leg but Pekovic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Pekovic has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pekovic connects with a nasty looking knee right to Dearak's face.
Dearak tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Pekovic successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pekovic is pulling down on Dearak's head. It's preventing any offense from Dearak, at least for the moment.
Dearak wants to control from the top but Pekovic keeps moving.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Davros Dearak wasn't active enough on the ground.

Pekovic drives through and clinches with Dearak against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Dearak's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Pekovic pulls guard successfully.
Pekovic wants to sweep here but Dearak controlling him for the moment.
Dearak trying to control but Pekovic is working from the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pekovic tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Niko Pekovic dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Davros Dearak's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dearak shoots in but Pekovic avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Niko Pekovic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dearak avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dearak defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pekovic.
Pekovic shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dearak sprawls well. Dearak wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pekovic gets slowly back to his feet.
Dearak is looking to clinch.
Dearak tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pekovic paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Pekovic tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dearak manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Dearak gets the takedown into side control.
Pekovic is pushing Dearak's head away, looking to escape. Dearak manages to hold on to the position though.
Dearak throwing strikes but Pekovic manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Dearak is breathing heavily.

Pekovic looks up at the clock and then as Dearak takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pekovic smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Pekovic is chipping away with strikes.
Pekovic working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.


The cut above Davros Dearak's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Pekovic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pekovic looks up at the clock and then as Dearak takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pekovic smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pekovic creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.


Davros Dearak's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Davros Dearak's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Niko Pekovic!
Niko Pekovic decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
