PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shan Aristio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Snow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aristio's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Living in Victory. Snow has chosen Just Like You Imagined as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shan Aristio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Snow!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aristio tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Snow swivels and escapes.
Aristio slips a jab and a cross from Snow.
Snow throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aristio.
Aristio shoots in but no luck this time.
Some wild striking there from Snow.
Snow throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Aristio shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Snow manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Snow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Snow is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Snow looks to land a combination but Aristio avoids it well.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Snow is on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Aristio is wriggling around but Snow manages to pass to half guard.
Aristio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Aristio tries to get out of the position.
Aristio is refusing to be controlled, as Snow sits in half guard.
Aristio is looking to control Snow's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Aristio avoid being mounted?

Aristio is trying to maintain the position but Snow is very close to passing his half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jon Snow.

Snow lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Snow.


It looks like Shan Aristio has been cut.
Aristio shoots for a takedown but Snow saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A shot to the liver by Snow. Beautiful body shot.
Aristio shoots in for a double leg but Snow sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aristio is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Aristio is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Snow's half guard.

Snow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aristio's guard.

Aristio seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jon Snow wasn't active enough on the ground.
Aristio shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Snow sprawls well. Snow wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aristio gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jon Snow will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Shan Aristio's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Snow scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Aristio tries for a takedown but Snow sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Snow fails to land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Snow. Aristio does a little dance to reset his feet.
Aristio has a takedown stuffed.
Nice takedown defense from Snow. No joy for Aristio on that attempt.

Snow lands a left and a right that send Aristio crashing to the mat, dazed. Snow thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Snow feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Aristio crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jon Snow!
After winning the bout, Jon Snow thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
