Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Beau Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duran Duran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duran has chosen Hungry like the wolf as his entrance music. Beau Roberts has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts throws a lazy head kick
and Duran counters with a nice uppercut.
Roberts fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Duran avoids it really well and circles away.
Roberts shoots in for a double leg but Duran sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Roberts has his takedown stuffed
and Duran counters with a one-two to the body.

Roberts fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Duran avoids it really well and circles away.
Duran displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Roberts.

Duran lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Roberts shoots in looking for a takedown. Duran tries to sprawl out of it but Roberts keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Duran manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Roberts is breathing heavily.

and Duran counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Duran.
Duran is trying to stall.
Duran is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Roberts is defending well for now.

Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Roberts fails with a takedown attempt.
Roberts gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Duran.

Roberts fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Duran to the ground. Roberts is now in Duran's guard.

Roberts wants to control from the top but Duran keeps moving.
Roberts is pushing down on Duran's leg trying to pass to half guard. Duran is fighting to maintain full guard but Roberts has managed to sneak the leg through.
Duran won't allow Roberts to pass to mount.
Roberts is looking to take a break and control but Duran is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Roberts throws a head kick but Duran moves out of range.
Duran throws a right and a left that Roberts avoids nicely.

Duran breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Duran jabs Roberts to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Roberts throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Duran tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Roberts is in Duran's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Duran is bucking up trying to escape but Roberts cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Roberts has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Duran's face.

Roberts takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Roberts with a couple of short strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Roberts lands a big shot there that rocks Duran but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Roberts tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Duran takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Duran is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Roberts goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Duran is on top in guard.
Roberts is trying to keep Duran in close.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Beau Roberts just wasn't active enough.
Duran blocks a head kick by Roberts.

Roberts shoots in and gets a takedown into Duran's guard.

Roberts fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Duran sprawls well initially but Roberts persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Roberts takes a swing at Duran's ribcage but misses.
Roberts will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
