The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Socha attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Socha throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Selassie I walks into a left hand.
Selassie I shoots for a takedown but Socha saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Socha looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Selassie I is trying hard to land a takedown here. Socha sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Socha rushes Selassie I and presses him up against the cage.
Socha missing with knees to the body.
A nice right hand lands inside from Socha.
Socha cracks Selassie I with a nice body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Socha tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Selassie I's elbow.
Socha lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Selassie I fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Socha makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Socha lands a nice uppercut.
Socha creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Selassie I's defenses.
It looks like Haile Selassie I has been cut.
Selassie I wants to get back to striking at distance but Socha won't allow it.

Socha tries a body shot but Selassie I blocks it.
Selassie I is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Nice body punch from Socha - that landed with a thud.
Selassie I blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Selassie I on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Socha looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Selassie I misses with the head strike.
Socha prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Haile Selassie I. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Socha blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Socha misses with some punches.
Socha lands a left hand.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Socha.
Selassie I misses with a short punch on the inside.

Socha gets through Selassie I's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Selassie I blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Socha pushes Selassie I back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Nice elbow from Socha.
Socha lands a right hand that snaps the head of Selassie I backwards.
Selassie I is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Socha lands an elbow that stopped Selassie I in his tracks for a moment.
Oh Selassie I is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Socha dips a shoulder and cracks Selassie I with a mighty uppercut! Selassie I falls back against the cage and Socha unloads with a barrage of strikes! Selassie I is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Socha screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Karl Socha!
