The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson throws a looping overhand right but Davies ducks down to avoid it.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dawson checks a leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dawson.
Davies takes one to the side of the head.
Dawson jabs Davies right on the nose. Davies blinks but takes it well.
Davies uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Dawson.
Davies thows a leg kick but Dawson checks it
and Dawson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Davies throws the left hand but Dawson avoids the punch easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Davies.

Dawson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Davies just misses with a punch to the body.
Davies closes the distance and clinches up with Dawson, looking for a takedown. Davies pushes Dawson against the cage but Dawson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Davies fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dawson manages to avoid it.
Davies walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Davies shoots in for a takedown but Dawson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tony Dawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Davies.

Dawson scores with a hook to the body. Davies takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Davies is defended easily by Dawson.

Dawson is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Davies is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dawson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Luke Davies seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davies is sitting in close to Dawson's body. Dawson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Davies is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Davies is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Dawson.
