Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chip Douglas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Muhammad Suryanto!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Chris Edwards and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suryanto misses with a takedown attempt

so Douglas counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Douglas passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Douglas is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Suryanto is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Douglas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Suryanto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Douglas pulls his head out easily.

Douglas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Suryanto drops back looking for a leg! Douglas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Douglas manages to kick Suryanto off! Suryanto jumps back into Douglas's guard.

Douglas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Suryanto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Douglas isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Suryanto stacks Douglas on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Suryanto!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Douglas manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Douglas has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Suryanto is proving hard to escape from.

Suryanto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Douglas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Suryanto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Douglas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Douglas tries to free his leg and advance position but Suryanto is retaining full guard.

Suryanto working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Douglas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Suryanto is tightening it up a little... Douglas has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Douglas reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Douglas taps out! Nice BJJ there by Suryanto!
