Mendez comes to the cage accompanied by Killswitch Engage - My Curse. Bubba Bistro has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mark Mendez's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bistro misses with a low kick.
Mendez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bistro tries to clinch but Mendez is having none of it.

Mendez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bistro's guard.
Mendez stops Bistro from standing up.
Mendez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mendez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mendez trying to control but Bistro is working from the bottom.
Bistro wants to get back to his feet but Mendez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Bistro scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bistro wants to clinch.
Mendez swats away the attempt to clinch by Bistro.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mendez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bistro pinned against the cage. Bistro gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mendez avoids the head kick by Bistro.
Mendez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bistro circles away.
Bistro swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Bistro clinches.
Mendez takes an elbow to the forehead.
Bistro tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Bistro using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mendez has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Mendez is trying to maintain a safe position but Bistro gets an underhook and turns Mendez into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bistro lands an elbow that stopped Mendez in his tracks for a moment.
Bistro gets underhooks to prevent Mendez's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Mendez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mendez jumps guard but Bistro stands there with Mendez around his waist. Mendez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Oh Mendez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bistro jerks Mendez's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Mendez drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Bistro goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Bistro because Mendez was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
