Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Altair Firenze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urijah Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Faber is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: California Love. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Firenze. No joy for Faber on that attempt.
Firenze is trying hard to land a takedown here. Faber sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Firenze shoots in but Faber avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Faber shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Firenze as he jumps to the side.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Faber can do anything to dispel that myth.

Firenze shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Faber sprawls well. Faber wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Firenze gets slowly back to his feet.

Faber might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Firenze kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Firenze shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Faber's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Firenze has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Faber is proving hard to escape from.

Firenze jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Faber is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Faber and Firenze has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Firenze goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Faber has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Firenze but great work by Faber.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Faber is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Firenze sees it coming and defends easily.
Faber is keen to just control but Firenze is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Altair Firenze will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Firenze shoots in looking for a takedown. Faber tries to sprawl out of it but Firenze keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Faber manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Faber avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Firenze tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Faber manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Faber gets caught napping as Firenze dives in and scores a takedown. Faber manages to retain guard.

Firenze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Faber swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Faber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Firenze doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Firenze manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Faber controls Firenze momentarily but Firenze frees himself.
Firenze has gone for a leg lock! Faber slips out almost immediately though and dives into Firenze's guard.
Firenze is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Firenze is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Faber has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Faber!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Faber is not content to let Firenze control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Altair Firenze showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Firenze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
