Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nyrkki Hynynen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Esa Linhares!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Linhares lands a jab to the head.
Linhares throws a head kick that misses.
Hynynen misses with a body shot.
Hynynen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Hynynen swinging wilding here.
Hynynen throws a nice looking combination but Linhares bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Hynynen misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Linhares keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Linhares closes the distance and clinches up with Hynynen, looking for a takedown. Linhares pushes Hynynen against the cage but Hynynen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hynynen with a nice cross.
Hynynen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hynynen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hynynen catches Linhares with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Linhares tries to clinch up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hynynen connects with a looping right hand.
Linhares walks forward, straight into a front kick from Hynynen.
Linhares misses with a takedown attempt - Hynynen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nyrkki Hynynen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esa Linhares.
Hynynen blocks a head kick by Linhares.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Linhares.
Linhares looks gassed!
Hynynen comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Linhares fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hynynen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hynynen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hynynen scores with a nice strike.
Hynynen throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Linhares colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Hynynen as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Linhares is left battered and dazed whilst Hynynen and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nyrkki Hynynen!
