Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ralph McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Davis Hogg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGuire comes to the cage accompanied by Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind . Hogg has chosen Last Ones Standing as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ralph McGuire!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jefferson Davis Hogg!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogg misses with a hook. McGuire ducked under it nicely.
Hogg defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGuire.

McGuire tries to keep at a distance but Hogg has taken the fight into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
McGuire lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Hogg with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Hogg looking to throw knees to the head but McGuire is blocking nicely.
McGuire with an attempt at a knee that misses.
McGuire struggles to land a body shot inside as Hogg controls his hands.
Hogg tries a knee to the head but McGuire blocks it.
McGuire lands a left hand.
McGuire swings away with an uppercut that misses.

McGuire breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hogg tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and McGuire is able to avoid easily.

McGuire bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
McGuire working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
McGuire is looking to take a break and control but Hogg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hogg is trying to get back to half guard.
Hogg parries the strikes from McGuire easily there. McGuire is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hogg to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGuire in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

McGuire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hogg manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hogg tries to roll over but McGuire keeps him under control.

McGuire working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

McGuire throws a strike but Hogg rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

McGuire is looking for a triangle but Hogg pushes his legs off easily.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! McGuire's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


McGuire takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Good standup being displayed there by McGuire as he connects with a hook.
Hogg has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McGuire.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hogg takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ralph McGuire is winning the standup battle so far.
McGuire fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McGuire listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like Jefferson Davis Hogg has been cut.
Hogg is breathing heavily.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by McGuire.

McGuire throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Hogg tumbling to the canvas!
McGuire wants to pass the guard but Hogg is keeping the position.

McGuire works a leg free and moves into half guard.
McGuire lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

McGuire seems to be looking for submissions.
McGuire wants to pass the guard but Hogg is defending well.
Hogg trying to control but McGuire postures up.

Hogg has hold of McGuire's hands but McGuire slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
McGuire trying to control the action but Hogg is working from the bottom.
McGuire seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hogg is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McGuire's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McGuire's back!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

McGuire prevents Hogg from getting a body triangle.
McGuire breaks Hogg's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
McGuire throws a big elbow that misses.
McGuire throws a strike but Hogg rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hogg won't allow McGuire to sweep him here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hogg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McGuire paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McGuire throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hogg's head.
A slapping leg kick lands for McGuire.
McGuire getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McGuire connects with an inside leg kick.
McGuire throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hogg stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
McGuire stuns Hogg with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hogg takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Oh, that's a big right hand from McGuire and Hogg goes tumbling to the canvas! McGuire follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Hogg is rocked!


That has opened up Jefferson Davis Hogg's cut even more.
McGuire is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hogg can do to turn this around?

McGuire controlling the position here and throwing strikes from the top. Nice elbow lands there... and another... and another... oh, Hogg is out! McGuire gets to his feet and admires his work - nice finish!
