Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Mazer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erek Oberdorf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mazer comes to the cage accompanied by The Fighter. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Mazer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Erek Oberdorf!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oberdorf throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Mazer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Oberdorf being controlled here, momentarily.
Mazer passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Mazer is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Oberdorf's shoulder. That is not cool.
Mazer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Oberdorf for as long as he can get away with.
Oberdorf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mazer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mazer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Mazer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mazer is landing with some decent strikes but Oberdorf is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Oberdorf displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mazer.

Oberdorf throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mazer tries for a takedown but Oberdorf sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mazer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Oberdorf.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mazer cracks Oberdorf with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mazer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A head kick from Oberdorf lands but Mazer takes it in his stride.
Oberdorf will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mazer tries to score a power double leg takedown but Oberdorf sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mazer somewhat.
Oberdorf lands a head kick. Mazer smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Oberdorf tries to bum rush Mazer with a series of wild strikes but Mazer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mazer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oberdorf's waist but Oberdorf gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mazer off to one side.

Oberdorf gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mazer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Mazer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Oberdorf can do to turn this around?

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mazer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
