PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kift Slaai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caius Lehtonen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slaai's entrance music is legend. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kift Slaai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Caius Lehtonen!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lehtonen has closed the distance and engaged Slaai in a clinch.

Slaai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Slaai throws a leg kick but Lehtonen sees it coming and moves out of range.
Slaai misses with an attempted mid kick.
Slaai shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lehtonen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lehtonen trying to control but Slaai is working from the bottom.

Lehtonen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Slaai, up you get!
Slaai really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Lehtonen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Slaai napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lehtonen tries for a kimura but Slaai is defending well.
Slaai wants to get back to his feet but Lehtonen drags him back down.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Slaai's face as Lehtonen controls the position.

Lehtonen has an Americana. Slaai didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Lehtonen is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Lehtonen hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
