Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Drown Syndrome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hadouken ChiMan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hadouken ChiMan is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drown Syndrome!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hadouken ChiMan!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Steve Montenegro and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

ChiMan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Syndrome looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
ChiMan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
ChiMan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Syndrome keeps working.
ChiMan with the ground and pound but Syndrome regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Syndrome trying to control from the bottom.
ChiMan prevents Syndrome from improving his position.
Syndrome makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Syndrome.
Syndrome avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
ChiMan wants to control from the top but Syndrome keeps moving.
Syndrome is trying to control the position but ChiMan postures up.
Syndrome tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Syndrome escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. ChiMan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
ChiMan with a nice head shot there.
Syndrome manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Syndrome throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for ChiMan because Syndrome loaded up on that one.

Syndrome thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

ChiMan defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Syndrome.
ChiMan wants to get back to his feet.

Syndrome lands a big elbow.
Syndrome has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of ChiMan's face.
ChiMan tries to hold on but Syndrome pushes him away.

Syndrome goes for an armbar but he's not got it… ChiMan turns into him and now he's in Syndrome's guard.
ChiMan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Syndrome pulls ChiMan in close to prevent any damage.

Syndrome is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
ChiMan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
ChiMan keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Syndrome's head.

ChiMan wants to stand and escape but instead Syndrome has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

ChiMan has his feet on Syndrome's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Syndrome shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. ChiMan is trying to defend but Syndrome finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Drown Syndrome will probably get the nod.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by ChiMan.
The fight stays on the outside here - Syndrome looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
ChiMan looks to land a combination but Syndrome avoids it well.
Syndrome shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has ChiMan pinned against the cage. ChiMan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

ChiMan wants to get back to his feet but Syndrome is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Drown Syndrome overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Syndrome postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! ChiMan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Syndrome, into his guard.

Hadouken ChiMan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

ChiMan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Syndrome.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Syndrome enables ChiMan to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Syndrome manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Hadouken ChiMan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well ChiMan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
