Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nexus checks a low kick from Steel Penn.
Nexus throws a body punch but Steel Penn moves out of range.
Steel Penn connects with a high kick.
Nexus takes a swing at Steel Penn's ribcage but misses.
Nexus misses with an uppercut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nexus.
Nexus checks a leg kick nicely.
Steel Penn throws a nice outside leg kick.
Good leg kick by Steel Penn there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Steel Penn connects with a leg kick. Nexus looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

A head kick from Steel Penn lands but Nexus takes it in his stride.
Nexus throws a low kick but Steel Penn moves out of range easily.
Nexus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nexus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nexus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Steel Penn is in a horrible position here. Nexus smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Steel Penn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nexus on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nexus postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Steel Penn in real trouble here! The ref calls for Steel Penn to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
