These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Super Cow!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFist tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McFist tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cow paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cow pushes McFist up against the cage in a clinch.

Cow manages to break the clinch.
James McFist seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McFist wants to clinch

and Cow counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
McFist wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

McFist breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cow rushes McFist and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cow unloads a knee to the mid-section. McFist lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Cow tries to pull guard but McFist won't allow it.
McFist wants to break the clinch but can't.

McFist breaks from the clinch.

Cow moves into the clinch.

Cow closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cow lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McFist looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cow passes into half guard.
Cow keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McFist looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cow wants to take a breather but McFist is having none of it.

Cow escapes and gets back to his feet.
McFist tries to clinch

and Cow holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Cow jumps into guard, dragging McFist to the mat.
Cow is trying to keep McFist in close.
McFist tries to stand but Cow is controlling from the bottom.

Cow pushes a forearm under McFist's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, McFist is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Super Cow!
