PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leto II Atreides (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Limon Portokalov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Portokalov is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Breaking Benjamin-I Will Not Bow. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Limon Portokalov!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Portokalov looks to score with a jab to the body but Atreides is just out of range.
A big left from Portokalov misses.
Portokalov throws out a loose jab but Atreides uses good head movement to avoid it.
Atreides goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Portokalov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Portokalov keeps the fight on the outside.
Atreides defending well as Portokalov loads up on a big left hand.
Atreides slips under a jab.
Atreides shoots in looking for a takedown. Portokalov tries to sprawl out of it but Atreides keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Portokalov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Portokalov throws a hook but Atreides avoids it easily.
Portokalov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Atreides counters with a head kick. That will keep Portokalov thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

It looks like Limon Portokalov has been cut.
Limon Portokalov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Portokalov lands with a good body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Atreides gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Portokalov tries to get to full guard but Atreides has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Portokalov is looking to control Atreides's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Portokalov avoid being mounted?
Atreides wants to lay and pray for a moment but Portokalov keeps working.
Portokalov is looking for a sweep. Atreides is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Portokalov is trying to maintain the position but Atreides is very close to passing his half guard.
Portokalov wants to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Portokalov scores with a nice head shot.

It looks like Leto II Atreides has been cut.

Portokalov feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Atreides sprawling to the canvas! Atreides rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Portokalov finish him?!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Atreides wants to clinch up but Portokalov keeps it at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Atreides closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Portokalov's guard.

Portokalov manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Portokalov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Portokalov lands a nice looking body shot.
Atreides is breathing heavily.
Portokalov throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Portokalov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Limon Portokalov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
and Portokalov counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Atreides! He's just covering up as Portokalov starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Limon Portokalov!
Limon Portokalov really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Fresh To Death Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
