The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jackson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Nguyen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nguyen closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jackson's guard.
Jackson is trying to control the position but Nguyen postures up.
Nguyen drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Nguyen off! Nguyen jumps back into Jackson's guard.
Nguyen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
