PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fergus Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mitchell's choice of entrance music: Get Up. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mitchell's waist but Mitchell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barnett off to one side.

Mitchell feints and as Barnett raises his hands in defense, Mitchell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Barnett has his foot on Mitchell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mitchell works his way back into a safe position though.

Barnett could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Barnett slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Charlie Barnett has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Barnett gets caught flat footed, as Mitchell shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mitchell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mitchell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Barnett is bucking up trying to escape but Mitchell cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
