The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mccoshen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mccoshen lands in his opponent's guard.
Mccoshen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sanford is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mccoshen trying to control but Sanford is working from the bottom.
Mccoshen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Mccoshen tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanford is looking to get back to is feet but Mccoshen passes into side control.

Mccoshen decides to take the fight back to the feet.
A bone on bone clash there as Sanford blocks the leg kick.

Sanford throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mccoshen's waist but Mccoshen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanford off to one side.
Sanford shoots for a takedown but Mccoshen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Mccoshen has Sanford up against the cage in a clinch.
Sanford is trying to break free.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

Sanford breaks the clinch.
Sanford looks to land a combination but Mccoshen avoids it well.

Mccoshen moves into the clinch.
The referee calls for Sanford to work.

Sanford jumps guard and drags Mccoshen to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mccoshen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sanford tries to bench press Mccoshen off him but Mccoshen keeps the position.
Mccoshen trying to control the position but Sanford is working away.

Mccoshen has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mccoshen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sanford pinned against the cage. Sanford gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mccoshen fails to land the takedown.

Mccoshen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Sanford is looking for a sweep. Mccoshen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sanford looks winded!
Sanford is trying to stand up here but Mccoshen is controlling him well.
Mccoshen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Mccoshen is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sanford!
Sanford is bucking up trying to escape but Mccoshen cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Mccoshen is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Sanford is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Sanford flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Mccoshen anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Sanford and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Mccoshen slips an arm under Sanford chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Mccoshen has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Mccoshen is squeezing on Sanford like an anaconda would it's prey. Sanford fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
